The Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo) village, 2.5 miles from Wa-Di, was reconstructed following a catastrophic flood in 1886. Retaining its ancient settlement patterns, the new housing learns from these patterns and the archetype two-story house.
Completed in August 2017, The Wa-Di Housing Project provides healthy homes and a fresh start for many families at Kewa Pueblo. All units are designed with passive solar orientation and contain private work sheds. The 60,000-square foot area reflects the culture of the village, balancing traditions with modern needs.
